Young Men and Mental Health
Mental health problems and suicide are a growing risk, for young people and men. The Covid pandemic has had an impact on all of us, and we are aware that it has impacted on mental health.
In 2019 the suicide rate increased by 5%, (Samaritans). A study from Mind showed that more than half of adults and over two thirds of young people said that their mental health has gotten worse during the period of lockdown restrictions. Mind found the most common coping strategies were:
